Food for Fines is back!
Nov. 30 - Dec. 6: The HMCPL is offering Food for Fines this year at all library locations the week after Thanksgiving: (Monday, Nov. 30 - through Sunday, Dec. 6.) We will forgive $1 in overdue fines for every non-perishable food item (canned or boxed) that a patron brings in. Please note: the library will only accept new, unopened cans and boxes of food within the expiration date, and charges for lost or damaged items cannot be waived. Canned and boxed food items will benefit the Interfaith Mission Service's Food Line, which serves individuals and families in need of emergency food assistance. (Learn more about Food Line)
I love this program since I have a nine year old that has a hard time remembering to get her books back to the library.
