And now to the real theater...

Ah, it was wonderful to be back to the Rave. While we enjoy taking the whole family to the Carmike for $5.00, we forgot how wonderful DLP can be. There are just some movies that we have to go to the Rave to see and Tron is one of those. We took the whole family to see Tron tonight and really enjoyed the sound and lights. The plot was kinda thin but it was amazing how they were able to take Jeff Bridges younger face and put it on another actor. Very cutting edge. We loved the lit up Disney castle at the beginning also.

The Carmike

Once we found out that the Carmike Theater has all their movies for $ 1.00, we became regular costumers. Last night we went to see RED. It was pretty good but it did have a couple of bad words. We grabbed a couple of sandwiches before the showing because we were in a hurry. All in all, our total for date night was $14.50. Which included 2 sandwiches, 2 movie tickets, and one huge bucket of popcorn. Pretty good, huh?


Also, they now have their 2011 buckets out. Once you purchase the bucket then all refills are only $2.50 for the entire year. We bought 2 buckets and have really gotten our moneys worth out of them. If you are looking for something inexpensive to do in this economy or if there was a movie you wanted to see but missed it in the regular theater , then give he Carmike a try! (I couldn't find a picture of the new buckets so I used the present one)

Crafty Lydia

While the kids were studying, Lydia had to be quiet as a mouse. She decided it would be a good time to be creative.
She created an ornament. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Final Exam Week

Shhhh...has been the main word spoken around here for a couple of days. Samantha and Nathan have both been studying for their final exams. The test were yesterday and both think they did fine. I am proud of both of them.




Nathan takes science classes from Mrs. Simmons. She left the public school system to teach her own children and has been offering classes for homeschoolers for years now. It is commonly agreed that her classes are harder than college level classes. We are so thankful for her and the fact that she really prepares her students for the academic world. She also gives them home baked goodies at every class.





Nathan had a party after his exam. Pizza and junk food!! I know he is going to miss the great friends he made in this class.

I found this one and I bet it is the one you were thinking about. It looks cute but it is out of print so the ones available are $9 and up for a used book. :-( Gonna look for the Rod and Staff one now.

Little Mommy

I was talking to my friend Wendy about this book yesterday so please excuse me while I use my space for this conversation. (Wendy, this is a different book from the Helping Mommy book so I'm posting a few of the first pages so you can see it.) This is a classic golden book and I found it on amazon. I bought it as a gift for Maddie because it fits her perfectly. Rachael was my child who loved to play with dolls and then came Samantha who only liked stuffed animals. Then, I had Nathan. Nothing but dinosaurs for that one, And finally, I had Lydia. Who liked playing with her doll house for a short while but now she prefers barbies, calico critters, and pet shops. So you can imagine how happy I am to have a grand baby who wants to play babies with me. I bought her all kinds of things to play Mommy for Christmas. I really hope she doesn't outgrow this stage anytime soon. I am hoping to learn to sew doll clothes before it ends :-)



oh, I thought he was Dan but I was mistaken. I remember those little cars! They sure don't make things like they used too!




I think the little girl looks so much like Maddie. I can't wait to read this book to her!!!
