Drivers Ed with a View

Yesterday, for driver's ed, Nathan and I went for a drive to the Dam. We wanted to see the eagles. As we turned off the road, we spotted the male eagle sitting in the dead tree.By the time we turned around, he had flown back to the nest. We stopped and set up our spotting scope to get a closer look. We were able to get a good view. I even saw the babies. It was pretty awesome.

The nest is huge. Someone told me it could weigh up to one ton.
He is so majestic. You can tell the male from the female by the metal band on HIS leg.

Grab your binoculars and drive over one day if you get the chance. It was a LOT less crowded yesterday. There were only 2 or 3 people. It can be very crowded on the weekends but the people are very friendly.
