Some Bunny stole my prop...

William asked me if we bought this bunny for a prop. Why, yes we did! Does that make us bad. lol
He is a cute bunny and now Maddie has a pet. :-)
It was nice of her to let her Poppy hold it and play with it for the day.

Smiles

See, she does smile.

Lydia

Maddie

Maddie is 2 yrs and 4 months.
She is simply adorable.
She can repeat anything you say.
She knows the names of everyone in the family. Samantha is still Haji.
She is super smart in geography. She can name any landmark you pass and recognizes what road she is on. Rachael was like this also. It never ceases to amaze me.
She is addicted to Walmart.
She says cute things like..I hold you...yes...lub you..mine go…
She likes to swim and talk on the phone.
She gives the best hugs.
She has a very scary muahahh laugh when she is being funny.
She is her GiGi's shadow and follows her everywhere. (which makes me happy btw)
She likes to go to GiGi's house as soon as she wakes up everyday. (after snuggling with mommy first)
She likes to be read to.
She can do a front flip.
She knows most of her colors.
She can open any door in the house.
She likes to talk and will sit and talk your head off when she is sleepy.
She is afraid of munsters...(thanks to Nathan. bad nathan.)
She likes to clean house and mess it up too.
Her favorite story is Little Mommy and as of today she is scared of the big bad wolf.
She is very independent and likes to do everything for herself. I do it, she says.
She is learning to hold her nose and close her mouth so she can go underwater like Lydia.
She loves to "go". Mention going anywhere and she say, I go. She can even get emphatic and say I go several times with a please added in there. Don't even mention Walmart. I did mention she was addicted right?
Well that's all I can think of at the moment. I may add a few as I think about them.

Storm damage photos from Jacks

We went over William's moms and his dad's a few days after the storms to see if they were ok and to see if they needed any help. Marian was okay. She didn't have any storm damage and was able to buy everything she needed until the power returned.
William's dad had several trees down but compared to the damage all around them, it was minor. Here are a few pictures for James and Kyla so they can see the damage.

this tree was across their driveway and it had already been cleared by the time we arrived. Their area was being guarded by the National Guard and we had to go through a check point just to get on their road. Their neighbors along the river got the worst of it. I think they are still cleaning up over there and they still had no power or phone line the last time I talked to Judy.

After we left Jack's we rode into Guntersville and to Arab to see the damage. It was horrifying to see everything destroyed. Both areas were heavily hit. The only good thing we found that day was a guy standing on the side of the road with a sign...hot Dominoes Pizzas large $10.00. We pulled right in and got a few of those. They tasted sooooo good after eating hot dogs and snack foods for a couple of days. (all the others were eating steak but I'm not a Steak eater)

And the birthday must go on...

William's birthday fell on day 3 of no power. Fortuanely most of his gifts were already purchased with the excetion of a few things I wanted to pick up from Walmart. I decided those things would have to wait until things calmed down a bit and Walmart was back up and running with power.

Maddie was excited and helped him open all his presents.

Publix was up and running at full speed. The first day they were running on limited power but by the second day, they were back in business. We are so grateful for Publix. We ate like kings and had more than enough ice to keep things cold while the power was out. And since their bakery was back up and running, I grabbed some cupcakes to surprise William. I was going to make him a chocolate whipped cream cake but that will have to be put on hold for father's day. All in all, I think he enjoyed the day.

Power Outage

As I mentioned in the last post, we lost out power for 5 days after the tornadoes raged through Alabama. We spent most of our time outdoors. Each evening we came together for a bonfire. It was really nice being without a tv and computer for a few days. It was really sad when the power came back on and everyone returned to their normal busy lives.

The result of no power. I haven't seen it that clean since the day we brought it home from the store.

Boat Races

While the tornadoes were raging all around us, we were outside watching the weather and enjoying being outside.
Lydia and Carla made a boat to race down the ditch.

the race is on...
Lydia is in the lead...
walking to the finish line...
Back to do it all over again.
Everyone else joined in by racing sticks. Fun stuff.
The tornadoes went all around us but we were safe. We did lose our power for 5 days.

Puddles

Mom's Birthday

At the end of April, we celebrated my mom's birthday. Hope you had a wonderful birthday mom!

What do you see??

This post is for my younger followers. :-)

What do you see?

look closer...what do you see?

Do you see him now?

Egg Hunt for Big Peeps

It doesn't take much to make this momma happy and my children seem to always know the right things to do. Every year one of us is sick for Easter and this year it was me. Do you know how hard it is for the planner/organizer of holidays to be sick?? Very hard! Thankfully, I gave birth to four precious children who jumped in there and helped me.
I was feeling a little down because they were too grown to hunt so guess what? We had our annual egg hunt after all!! All four of my children, plus Maddie and Carla all joined in to hunt eggs. It certainly made one momma very happy and made being sick a lot better!

Portraits of Easter

Night before Easter

Ah, the night before Easter and once again I have waited until late to get started. Hopefully, one day I am going to get a jump on things and start cooking and dyeing eggs early so I'm not up all night doing dishes.

Lydia made sugar cookies.
Rachael made a bunny cake.
Maddie and Lydia Dyed the eggs.

ta da, what a great job they did!!

Aunt Margaret's 70th Birthday

My family.
Later in the afternoon on Saturday, I went to Aunt Margaret's 70th birthday party. It was a New Hope Park. It was so much fun to see relatives that I haven't seen or talked to in years. I mean years! My Aunt was diagnosed with colon cancer this year and has had a pretty rough year so it was an extra special celebration and I was honored to be invited.
Rusty, Tyler, and Angie.
Dad and Mom
Two friends of Aunt M's and Aunt Margaret on the far right.
Ruthie Ann, Me, and Ernest Jr.
Ruthie and Kathy
EJ, Aunt M, and Dad. (3 of 8, Aunt Dorothy couldn't make it and their other bro/sis have gone on to be with the Lord)

Aunt M's family minus Joey. L-R, April, Aunt M, Olivia, Angie, Rusty, and Tyler.
